In-call settings
This 2:38 video explains how to change your device settings within the call.
There are 4 buttons you can use to configure your device settings:
Mute video: this button disables (or mutes) your video.
Mute audio: this button mutes your microphone.
Switch camera: this button toggles between the different cameras connected to your device.
Hide local video*: this button hides your video from your own view. Your client will still be able to see you. |
*Pro-tip: leaving your video on throughout the day might lead to prolonged self-monitoring, which may contribute to video-conferencing fatigue (or "Zoom fatigue"). Hiding your video at the beginning of a call may help reduce Zoom fatigue.
In addition, the Device Settings menu includes drop-down menus for configuring a range of settings, including:
- Select camera: select a camera connected to your device
- Select microphone: select a microphone to change the audio input into your call
- Select speaker: select a speaker to change the audio output from your cal
- Select video quality: select the resolution of your video being transmitted to your client.
- Select layout: this allows you to select a grid layout which is helpful when you have 3 or more participants in a call.
- Select background: this allows you to blur the background of your video.
- Change language: select the language of the menus and settings within the call.
